Biography

DJ Dennis Houseton, a.k.a. Dhouse, was born in Stamford, CT to parents of Puerto Rican descent. Drawing influence from his mother's musical tastes, he grew up listening to artists such as Hector Lavoe, Willy Colon, and Oscar D'Leon. Later he found that same Afro-Latin sound in the form of house music.

While attending house music parties he was introduced to the sounds of his early influences; Masters at Work, Larry Heard, Mood II Swing, Barbara Tucker, Herbert, and more. He was intrigued by the the sound of vinyl and how the DJs mixed the music. He got himself some turntables, and it took off from there. As he evolved as an artist, and the scene grew, he became inspired by artists such as Jojo Flores, Osunlade, Black Coffee, Johnny Vicious, Black Science Orchestra, Franck Roger, Frankie Knuckes, Glen Underground, Kerri Chandler, Moodyman, Quentin Harris, Timmy Regisford, Blaze, Dj Gregory and many more.

He began his DJing career by hooking up with the Swing Kids crew, and soon started spinning at clubs and raves all over the East Coast. He held residencies in Stamford, CT at Apples Cafe and Bank Street Brewery, and DJed at many clubs and bars in the NY/CT area.

Dennis Houseton is well known for his great music selection, ever on the lookout for fresh tracks that will make your soul and your body move. You'll rarely see him standing still behind the decks. Currently he is taking his skills from behind the turntables and is producing his own tracks. Keep an eye out for more things to come from Dhouse!
